Just like 90210, I too needed a week off. The show needs to reoup itself from a horrid return in the New Year. Its like coming back flat after the All Star Break for a team that wasn't in the lead but not too far out of it and with some good play they will be right in the thick of things. Rather than bash the show again, afterall they are trying, let's just go through a few things they did right.
- Naomi's mom has gone AWOL, or in real people speak the producers/writers/directors realized how bad she was and since they couldn't just switch her character to a friday night spot they booted her off the show. Naomi's dad cannot be too far behind as he is not much better, perhaps a Bart Bass ending to his run is warranted, setting Naomi up as the female version of Dylan McKay. Originally I pegged Silver as the next Dylan McKay but she moved in with Kelly and more on that later. Naomi has stepped up and I feel can assume this role, she will move into a hotel, possibly into Dylan's old suite. She has grown on me over the weeks while the show in itself has been on a downward spin. I look forward to her roles in upcoming episodes and if you were a Dylan fan, so should you. Speaking of Dylan, his return to BH 90210 aired on Soapnet this weekend and it was must watch TV for me. His first few episodes back were, in my opinion, the best of his return. His wanting Kelly Taylor (must have been the drugs), his relationship with Gina and the chip on his shoulder he still carried with him after the death of his wife. It will be a great few weeks catching up on these episodes.
-Ryan is back and he is burnt out on teaching. I am sure that is not what he is burnt out on but the true benefit of him being back was that he told off Kelly Taylor when she just assumed it was all about her as always. been waiting for someone to do that since Steve Sanders did back at the Spring Dance. Welcome back, Ryan, catch a shave and get over Kelly, you can do better.
-Ty is back with a whole new and different attitude and he is the father of Adrianna's baby. In a previous post I mentioned this as a possibility, if you dont believe me then feel free to refer back. Too early to tell how the rest of this will play out but since these two are the leads in the play I am sure it will be interesting. Look fro Annie to eventually take the lead as adrianna's pregnancy gets closer and possibly things can heat back up with her and TY as Ethan recovers from this ridiculous accident. Speaking of the play, who is the new chic? what happened to Brenda?
-Dixon finally manned up and told Silver how it is. Silver was getting a little annoying and self righteous, she needed to be put in her place. What a coincidence her character went downhill after she moved in with Kelly. I can't wait to see her beg Dixon for forgiveness and promise that she will change while he is getting his jollies with the black bisexual. "Damn that's Good TV" ...... Ric Flair, 1998.
-Funny that they had Ethan trying out for the school play with the premise he doesn't know how to act, do you think this was just as funny to the writers and do you think the writers are secretly debating whether or not to kill off this character? I got a funy text message from the Little One on this topic, it went as follows:
Ethan: "I am not an actor"
Dear Ethan:
We Know.
Little One
Thanks Little One.
And the rest:
-Lost returned. From the folks I conversed with about the subject, mixed reviews. I personally am not into the time travel element. Imagine that USAIR plane that went down in the Hudson and those passengers got off the plane and it was 1972, 1984 and then they hit land and its 1955. The whole human element to me has now been lost. It was beleivable that a group of scientists went to this island to do some studying and then got stuck. But this time travel, I am too old for it. I don't buy it, it can't happen.
-The auditions for American Idol used to be really funny, now they are just dragging out and its the same thing over and over. I like the new judge though, she is a female Simon and Simon probably feels threatend.
-Chloe back on 24, I couldn't be happier for the stay at home mom.
-30 Rock continues to deliver week after week.
-Bromance is hilarious, check it out. It is so stupidly funny.
-Gossip Girl v. 90210. Look at how kids in NY and kids in LA grow up. Hard to believe they are all in HS.
-Someone actually called to tell me that Randy Orton won the Royal Rumble on Sunday. He got the idea to call me to tell me this by reading my blog. Thanks for the info, i am still wondering what to do with that info so i decided to share it and maybe someone has some idea.
Till next week, hopefully I won't need another week off.
